Bi-Annual Music and Poem Festival
Goal: To celebrate the many talents of writers and musicians that we have in Cann Valley and to create an opportunity for everyone to be involved with different socio-economical and ethnical background.
Objective: With the permission of using the premises of either the Bush Nurse or the community centre, with proper organization, people gather together and have fun!
Extension to the idea: when enough interests is aroused by the local community, a small ensemble/band/choir/orchestra can be established and rehearsals can take place on a monthly basis and use the music and poem festival as a platform for them to perform, and later on, traveling to different regional towns to showcase our talented artists can also be achieved.
If there's enough funding, we can also invite artists from other towns to perform in our town, so an exchange of creativity and artistry can be achieved.
Personal note: Music is such an comfortable medium for people to express themselves without any language barrier or intellectual abilities While we might be facing some difficulties due to drought, family circumstances, financial difficulties, health problems and many others, music and creative writings could be an outlet for them to have their voices heard and feel valued.
