Goal: To utilize our local resources, timber, to turn into unique tourists attraction and to display the craftsmanship of our local carpenters/people.
Objective: Any unique objects, such as toys, cars, signs, miniature furniture and houses, trains, food.....etc, that are made of wood, can be displayed in a shop along the HWY, with big wooden signs at the front "Timber Industry Museum" to attract the eyes of passing passengers. With permission of the makers, these items can be sold and certain percentage of the commission goes into the renting of the shop.
Educational Tool: Since our local school, P-12 Cann River College offers woodwork as part of the school curriculum, students can use the timber industry museum as a platform to showcase their work and to possibly, earn some pocket money as well.
Personal Note: To have people admiring your creative work and even purchase them off the original maker is a good way to boost self-esteem and confidence, which is very much needed in our town.
